STATEMENT BY IMO CONCERNED CITIZENS IN RESPECT OF THE DELIVERY OF THE JUDGEMENT OF THE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTIONS PETITIONS TRIBUNAL SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY, 21ST SEPTEMBER, 2019
As we await the judgement of the Imo State Governorship Elections Tribunal holding in Abuja, Imo Concerned Citizens will be observing the delivery of the Judgement of the Elections Petitions Tribunal to be delivered in Abuja.
While we wonder why the tribunal was relocated from Owerri to Abuja for the final Judgement, we hope that the best interest of Imolites is put in place in all decisions.
Imo Concerned Citizens will be deploying our team Led by the Convener Worldwide Hon. Divine Chike to the Venue of the delivery of the Judgement and follow-up with the proceedings.
Hon. Divine Chike - Convener ICC Worldwide. |
Imo Concerned Citizens calls on the members of the Tribunal to ensure that justice is not only delivered but seen to be delivered.
Imo Concerned Citizens also expects that there are no interference in the activities of the tribunal and the process is conducted in a transparent manner.
As a reputable civil society organization, Imo Concerned Citizens would not do anything to undermine the nation’s judiciary as the last arbiter for all and sundry and we would not want to prejudice the outcome of the Tribunal which we hope would do justice to the matter before it by giving victory to the good people of Imo State.
Imo Concerned Citizens calls on political parties and candidates to act in manners that will not jeopardise the peace and security of our state and to always seek redress through legal means.
Imo Concerned Citizens calls on all Imolites to remain calm and conduct themselves in manners worthy of responsible citizens and no one should allow him/herself to be used for nefarious acts by unscrupolous elements.
