CATHOLIC PRIESTS' PROTEST IN ENUGU ON THE KILLING OF A PRIEST

It is painful to die this way in the hands of uncivilized elements. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

But permit me to add that such acts of Cruelty happen everyday and in many ways in Nigeria, with thousands of the common people as victims. But only few or nobody protests for them. Are they not our people or church members? Perhaps if we had protested on their behalf, we would not have arrived at this point.

The priests, pastors and bishops should lead the people to oppose "the normalization" of barbarism presently dominating the sociopolitical scene in our country. We don't need to protest only when a priest is a victim. We need to let the government know that this is not about this particular priest, but about every Nigerian. But one of the problems we have as a people, is that we oppose evil only in isolation or as individuals. We are not interested until we are involved. There is a serious explosion of violence going on in the Country. But the most surprising thing is that only few individuals or at most, the Ohanaeze or IPOB are voicing out their disapproval of it.  We need not keep silent until evil gets to our doorstep as individuals or groups before we start carrying opposing placards along the street. A stitch in time saves nine.

I remember that Jesus before His unjust arrest, crucifixion and death, told His disciples that whoever had no sword should sell whatever he had and buy one.

Umunna, obu uka burukwa ilu.

ONYE NDI IRO GBARA GBURUGBURU...

I can't categorically accuse the herdsmen, but what I am sure of is that the people that killed the daughter of the Afenifere leader are the same sowing the climate of terror all over the country. I said it sometime ago and I repeat myself: BOKO Haram has infiltrated into the herdsmen. The government of Buhari and Miyetti Allah are away of this, but they are keeping mute.

Why? Because they also know that some herdsmen are guilty. But nobody is quick to proscribe them.  PMB and the Cabals know that the fulani herdsmen walk about with Kalashiknovs (AK47), but they have never called for their disarmament.

Nigeria is presently sitting on a keg of gun powder prepared directly or indirectly by this government.
