Congratulations to His Excellency Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha in his well deserved victory at the judgement delivered by the Governorship Election Tribunal yesterday at Abuja. This is indeed a Victory for All Imolites who have been groaning under bad governance for years now.
With the jubilations which heralded the Tribunal Judgement from Imo to Abuja, Lagos and abroad, the Petitioners should clearly read the hand writing on the wall and shield their swords, so that our Governor can concentrate in his Mission of Rebuilding the state from the ruins it was subjected to over the years.
As we celebrate, may we as well Reflect on the Venue of the Judgement. Why did the Tribunal shift to Abuja for the Judgement, after sitting for months at Owerri for the trial without any threat in anyway? What is the Economic Implication to Imolites who moved in large numbers to Abuja, including our Governor and his Deputy along with their wives, Govt Officials, Ex Governors, the Petitioners with their Supporters? How much could our people must have spent in Hotel Accommodations, Air Tickets, Transport Fares, Security, etc, all in Abuja? Can we as well quantify the RISKS our people were subjected to in traversing to Abuja from different parts of the Country and Abroad?
It is always necessary we demand for explanations when certain decisions inimical to our economic and Security well beings are put in place, by the powers that be. The fact remains that Imolites are highly sophisticated and very developed, therefore envisaging a breakdown of Law and Order after the Judgement was totally out of place. Imo remains one of the most Peaceful state, with or without Election/Tribunal.
We should therefore try as much as possible to question any situation that attempts to debase our lovely State and her Peaceful citizens. Shifting the Tribunal Judgement to Abuja was uncalled for and a great inconvenience to our people, Economically and Security wise.
My humble thought.
